Lens of Culture
Lens of Culture is a program aimed at fostering cultural diversity and preservation through photography. Photography is a universal art that has been around for centuries. Many historic moments would have never been able to be documented without this art.
Photography captures and tells the story very quickly.
Combined with the internet technology we can share across the world, and publish information within a matter of seconds.
By gifting out cameras to individuals. They will enjoy a six-month syllabus of documentation and projects, which will help to acquaint these individuals with their culture better.
In return, they will photograph their modern-day surroundings. This assignment will cover different categories such as architecture, elders, nature, art, and the environment they live in. Our website will be opened to the public to have as much involvement as possible in cultural riches.
Upon completion of this program, a small grant will be given to the participant to further their education. And they will keep their camera at no cost.
We hope that at the end of this program, we will all have gained new knowledge on where culture has gone through the generations.
Such knowledge will allow us to have a more educated outlook into the history of where culture has been in the past and present time and how others view it.
