Wheelchair Successfully Delivered

world arts outreach group art lessons

Last year we introduced to you the story of baby Estrella.   A baby girl was born with an extremely rare condition called Hydranencephaly. Working along with the Global Hydranencephaly Foundation.  World Arts Outreach was able to acquire a custom-made wheelchair for children with special needs. Estrella’s mother Felina Rivera explained that because of her condition Estrella has limited mobility, a simple daily task such as taking her for a walk or visit to the doctors sometimes may prove to be a little more challenging. Wheelchairs such as the one donated are not yet available in Belize. This one was customized especially to support the stress on her head and body.  Besides the wheelchair, parents from the Global Hydranencephaly Foundation network made a generous donation of clothing.  This came in very useful since most of Estrella’s clothing has to be altered in order for her to wear them.

There are other children within  Belize and other countries with special needs, so it’s an ongoing effort to help aid parents in acquiring proper equipment and education. With the appropriate resources these children often end up living a more longer and healthier life. Parents who have children with special needs often devote their full time, attention, and expense. So any assistance given to these parents builds up hope which is essential for both parent and child.

World Arts Outreach would like to give a big thanks to the Global Hydranencephaly Foundation and all the other parents who helped make this mission a reality.  If you would like to volunteer or contribute  please feel free to contact us
